Diggin' The Dancing Queen! Windsor Castle ABBA Show

Published on 27 July 2017

Swede Dreamz have taken their ABBA tribute show to some strange and wonderful places over the years - a floating restaurant in the heart of Moscow, a roof garden of a fourth-floor penthouse on the banks of the River Tyne in Newcastle and yesterday an ABBA show in the grounds of historic Windsor Castle in Berkshire!

Thankfully the afternoon rain gave way to an evening of ABBA fun when Swede Dreamz band members took to the stage to entertain 500+ royal household staff and their families before the screening of Mamma Mia The Movie on the big outdoor screen. It was a sight to behold seeing so many off-duty staff proudly strutting their stuff to Waterloo, Super Trouper, Take A Chance On Me, Mamma Mia and, of course, Dancing Queen in their ABBA and 70’s fancy dress outfits.

By sheer coincidence only earlier this week it was revealed (rumoured) Her Majesty The Queen’s favourite song was ABBA’s Dancing Queen so it was rather fitting to belt out the 1976 chart-topping classic in such a fine and historic setting.

We would like to thank Philip Hall and his team for the warm welcome and kind hospitality we received during our time at Windsor. Thanks also to Mike at Mike Norman Photography in Wem, Shropshire for the recommendation.
