Fabbatastic Time On Guernsey

Published on 30 April 2017

Swede Dreamz ABBA tribute band recently took their ABBA show to Guernsey for a very special fund-raising event in aid of GSPCA (Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). The sell-out show took place at the beautiful four-star Duke of Richmond Hotel in St Peter Port.

Upon arrival on the island the four band members were first taken to BBC Radio Guernsey for live interview (including renditions of ‘SOS' and ‘Fernando’ live on-air) then it was back to the hotel for press interview and photographs. We were beginning to wonder if Guernsey actually thought ABBA had reformed!

Soundchecks and a lovely meal then it was show time and what a fab night we had. Almost everyone came along in ABBA or 70’s fancy dress and literally danced the night away to a non-stop action-packed two hour show including 'Dancing Queen', 'Mamma Mia', 'Waterloo' and many, many more.

And, such was the demand for tickets for this April show (tickets sold-out six months ago), Swede Dreamz ABBA tribute band members will be returning to Guernsey to do it all again on Saturday, 27th May 2017.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We are hugely grateful to Corinne Connolly from Sidney's Sponsored Events who is organising these two fantastic nights in aid of the GSPCA".

Personal thank you to Corinne Connolly for all her hard work and dedication behind the scenes in organising these events.

See you all again in May!

POST-SHOW UPDATE 07/06/2017 We have just been notified our two Guernsey events raised in excess of £6200.00 which will be spit and donated to GSPCA (Guernsey Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals) and Riding For The Disabled.  A huge thank you to everyone who supported these shows and a very special thank you to Corinne Connolly for all the hard work in organising the dates.
